Suivez Marix !

From 8 to 11 May 2025, "Follow Marix" in Perrecy-les-Forges:
An event organised in tribute to Louis Mourier, alias Marix, a committed 20th-century cartoonist and local boy.

A committed press cartoonist who died in deportation
The year 2025 will mark 80 years since the death of Louis Mourier, alias Marix, a talented cartoonist and caricaturist born in Perrecy-les-Forges in 1885, who was a prisoner of war in the German camps in Bavaria from 1914 to 1919 and died in deportation to the Sachsenhausen camp on 25 February 1945.
The author of satirical, libertarian and peaceful works, Marix left his mark on the publications of his time with his incisive and committed style.

(Re)discovering Marix
This tribute is being organised by Marix's descendants in the L'Imagerie association, in partnership with the commune of Perrecy-les-Forges, the Brasserie du Prieuré and Éditions de la Bourbince.
The exhibition, readings and republication of the book will enable everyone - Saône-et-Loiriens or curious tourists, drawing or history enthusiasts, specialists and the general public - to (re)discover the work of this talented artist, whose drawings were a blend of creativity, humour and humanism.

A rich and accessible programme
- A free open-air travelling exhibition: a selection of Marix's iconic drawings to be found in his native village of Perrecy-les-Forges.
- New edition of a book published by Éditions de la Bourbince to be discovered on site.
- Readings of texts and letters by Marix.
- Creation of a tribute beer? produced by the Brasserie du Prieuré.
- Replacement of the Marix plaque in the village square that bears his name, in the presence of the mayor (just after the 8 May ceremony).
An event not to be missed.

Programme for 8 May 2025
9.30am: Departure from the Hôtel de Ville to the war memorial. Commemoration of the surrender of Nazi Germany and the end of the war in Europe and speech by the Mayor.
10.30am: Meet at Place de l'Hôtel de Ville, then march to Place Marix.
11am: Place Marix: Unveiling of the new plaque. Official speeches, followed by a guided tour of the exhibition "Suivez Marix!
11:45: Maison Mourier: continuation of the guided tour of the exhibition.
12.15pm: continuation of the exhibition.
Presentation of the book "Les Chevaliers de la Crosse en l'Air" by Editions de la Bourbince and the Association l'Imagerie.
Launch of the special "Marix" cuvée with the Brasserie du Prieuré.
4pm-6pm: Chapuis room: presentation of original drawings and readings.
Closing drink.
