Alexandre Kantorow is a superstar classical pianist and the winner of the 2019 Tchaikovsky First Prize and the Grand Prize, awarded only three times in the history of the competition. He has been hailed by critics as the "reincarnation of Liszt" (Fanfare Magazine). He has performed in some of the world's most prestigious venues, including New York's Carnegie Hall and the Paris, Hamburg and Berlin Philharmonic Orchestras, as well as at the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

We are honoured by his presence to inaugurate the very first concert of the Piano à la Verrerie festival. A few pieces for solo piano will open the programme, which will continue with chamber music accompanied by the brilliant Liya Petrova (violin) and Aurélien Pascal (cello). An unforgettable inaugural concert!

The concert will be held outdoors. In the event of bad weather, the organisers reserve the right to move the concert indoors, to the large Alto hall at 2, avenue François Mitterrand - 71200 Le Creusot.
