Think water: no life without water

Rotary International is committed to the environment. So is the Rotary Club of Montceau. Its aim is to help raise awareness among a broad public - including secondary school pupils - of all the issues relating to the climate, living organisms and water resources, all of which affect the future of our children and grandchildren. In 2023, we tackled the climate issue. In 2024, the gateway was biodiversity. In 2025, the ecosystem approach will be based on the issue of water.
To achieve this, the Montcellian club, together with the CPIE Pays de Bourgogne*, with the support of the City of Montcelli and the municipalities in the coalfield, with the support of the Urban Community, with the active participation of not only schools but also businesses, the Chamber of Agriculture, associations and even the Gendarmerie, associations and even the Gendarmerie Nationale, is once again organising a free, all-day forum of events and meetings, open to all, with exhibition stands and fun, informative, interactive and participatory workshops in the Salle Bourdelle, complemented by five short conferences:
10am - Water, an issue for our region (CUCM)
11am - Action taken by the gendarmerie (CESAN) to combat environmental damage, with a focus on water issues (resource management and alteration)
14h30 - The otter in Europe (Autun Natural History Society)
3.15pm - New ways of recycling and reusing water: rainwater harvesting, reuse of waste water, can you produce your own drinking water? (SYMBIOSE)
    4.00 pm - Water-related risks (CEREMA).
